Sources of the magazine “New Times” claimed that H&M is preparing to enter stores in Ukraine and already asking rent price in the largest malls and at Khreshchatyk street.

According to the “New Times”, delegation of the Swedish company Hennes&Mauritz AB, headed by Matthias Lamberg, visited Kiev city last week for the second time in recent months. Recall, at the end of last year, the brand delegation and Matthias Lamberg already visited Ukraine, as reported liga.net.

However, the headquarters of the H&M company answered to the “New Times” that the company is not currently loot to open stores in Ukraine, and the trip to the capital of the own employees explained the constant search for new markets.

Just four sources in Ukraine – an investment banker and managers of consulting and trading company – on condition of anonymity told to the “New Times”: H&M is actively looking for a place to open its store. The Swedes are looking at the largest capital shopping – entertainment centers (SEC) Sky Mall, Ocean Plaza, Lavina Mall, and asked the price the location on Khreshchatyk street.

Negotiations with the Ukrainian SEC are extremely difficult, as said one of the interlocutors of the journal pertaining to commercial real estate management. According to him, H&M, which has an average store size of 3-5 thousand sq. m. counting on rental rates less than half of the market rates.

In this, according to the company GfK researching, H&M is in the second place in the Ukrainians customers waiting-list. And a similar visit may talk about what the Swedes still decide to enter at the Ukrainian market.
