Officially: IKEA will open the first store in Kiev in 2019

Swedish furniture giant IKEA officially confirmed plans to open the first store in Ukraine already in 2019. The Kiev store will operate in new for the company city-store format and will be located in the shopping and entertainment center Ocean Mall.

Ukraine will become one of the first markets where IKEA will open a store in a new format: along with France, Britain, Denmark, the US and China, according to the official company press-release. The company goes to the stores format that is smaller in size and located in the city central part. The goal is to satisfy the modern consumers’ demands who want to make purchases closer to home, as well as online due to the urbanization spread and the new technologies development.

Our team has chosen the most favorable business model, which will enable IKEA to implement plans in Kiev in the near future, taking into account the market research and consumer preferences results. The Ukrainian buyers IKEA will offer attractive design products wide range, as well as services and solutions list for the home as it was also noted in the company.
