Respublika Park Shopping Center Funds Construction Of Yal-6 Boat For Veteran Rehabilitationвал изготовление лодки «Ял-6» для реабилитации ветеранов

Respublika Park shopping center has provided the Ukrainian Maritime Pentathlon Federation with a Yal-6 boat worth 532,000 hryvnias as part of its social program. It will serve as a tool for physical and psychological rehabilitation of veterans, particularly people with disabilities.

“This Yal-6 provides new opportunities for rehabilitating our defenders. It’s our duty to support those who gave their strength to defend our country. The boat will contribute to their recovery and return to active life,” says Yulia Shchasliva, CEO of Respublika Park shopping center.

It is already being actively used in veteran training sessions. Over the past two years, yawl rowing has proven itself as an effective method for rehabilitating veterans and people with disabilities. Experience shows that teamwork, coordinated physical exercise, and being on open water have a positive impact on the recovery of both physical and psychological health.

The Ukrainian Maritime Pentathlon Federation notes: “Thanks to this boat from Respublika Park, which is equipped with special equipment—including rudders, approach systems, oarlocks, and specialized seats for rowers—veterans will have the opportunity to train on Ukrainian waters and participate in international competitions.”

On May 17-18, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Yawl Rowing Championships dedicated to the memory of Honored Coach of Ukraine Stanislav Zagoriy took place at the “Fregat” yacht club in Kyiv. Teams from Kyiv, Kyiv region, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions participated in the competition. A separate category of the championships featured performances by adaptive sports teams—specifically veterans undergoing rehabilitation.
