Ex-top-manager Carrefour and REAL appointed Metro Ukraine CEO
Olivier Langle was appointed the Ukrainian division new General Director. Martin Schumacher, who held this position earlier, joined the Russian Metro Cash & Carry management.
Martin Schumacher was appointed from July 1 to the position of Director for work with Metro Cash & Carry Russia suppliers and customers, as specified in the company press-service. Olivier Langle will be the new Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine CEO after completing all the official documents and obtaining the permit for work in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation requirements.
Olivier Langle has more than 25 years of experience in the of multi-format retail field. He began his career at Carrefour France company as the Sales department Head, and he grew up to be the Sales Director in Belgium. In 2011, he joined the REAL Turkey team in the CEO post. Since 2014, Olivier served as Vindemia Group Chairman of the Board and CEO, the Casino Group subsidiary company engaged in retailer on the Indian Ocean islands. Olivier joins MetroCash & Carry Ukraine team as General Manager on an internship within Metro AG.
Martin Schumacher will move to Russia in his new role and will report to Jerry Kalmys, the Metro Russian division CEO. Martin will also take responsibility for marketing, target customer groups managing, supply chains, pricing and product quality.
Recall, earlier, other personnel reshuffles number took place in the Ukrainian Metro division. In particular, in early May, it became known about the Ukrainian top-manager Metro transfer to the company managerial position in another country.
Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine former Sales Director Julia Pilipenko headed the Slovak retail business, as Delo.UA-portal reported. In addition, a new Commercial Director was appointed in Metro Ukraine. Since May 1, Elena Vdovichenko was taken up this post, she previously held the company Deputy Commercial Director position.
