Big castling: Alexey Grishko was appointed CEO LC Waikiki, and Yarema Ivakhiv headed LPP Ukraine
Earlier, Alexey served as the Regional Director on Ukraine of the Turkish clothing brand LC Waikiki.
Alexey Grishko told RAU, that he was appointed to the General Director LC Waikiki Ukraine position from September 1, 2019. The new leader has set ambitious tasks:
- aggressive expansion in offline and entry the company to the undisputed market leader position in the segment;
- opening in cities with the population of more than 100,000 inhabitants;
- operational processes’ automation and improvement;
- new line of LCW Dream Store stores’ opening;
- online-business’ development.
Alexey has more than 12 years of experience in fashion retail: from 2007 to 2013 he worked at company Marks & Spencer in various positions, including the flagship store manager’ position. He joined the LC Waikiki team at the very beginning of the brand’s path in Ukraine – in February 2013, heading the country’s first retailer store. In 2014, he worked at the company’s head office in Istanbul as an Operational Supervisor, responsible for international business in dozens of countries. From 2014 to 2016, he was engaged in launching the brand in Belarus, where he opened more than ten stores, holding the Regional Director’ position. Since 2016 he is regional director in Ukraine.
Now the regional director’ position is still vacant, but the process of both internal and external search has already begun. Vacancy should be filled in the near future.
Yarema Ivahiv, who served as CEO LC Waikiki Ukraine since December 1, 2016, headed the Ukrainian division of the Polish company LPP Group. This division develops such brands as Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay in our country. Yarema previously worked for Metro Cash & Carry for more than ten years, holding various positions in the wholesale and retail trade.
Recall that in March this year, Alexey Smirnov, who led LPP Ukraine since 2010, decided to leave the company. Zoryana Bryn was temporarily appointed in his place, and in September Yarema Ivakhiv took the General Director’ post.
Reference. The Turkish LC Waikiki brand entered the Ukrainian market in 2013, and during this time it managed to become one of the largest clothing retailers in the country. The company quickly scaled up its business and now the LC Waikiki’s own stores’ chain in Ukraine has more than 30 outlets with total square over 33,000 sq. At the same time, LC Waikiki does not slow down, following the plan to expand the chain to 60 stores by 2023 already.
The company launches new business-lines for itself along with the offline-chain. For example, at the 2018 end it launches your own online-store. And before that, the company introduced its own household products’ line to the Ukrainian market – LC Waikiki Home.
Polish LРP S.A. was created in 1995, and the first store (Reserved) was opened in 2000. As of February 2018, the company operated more than 1700 stores in 18 Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East’ countries.
In Ukraine, the LPP chain is being developed by the subsidiary “LPP Ukraine”. The first retailer’s store in the country was opened in 2003, and now it is one of the largest fashion companies in Ukraine in stores number and turnover’ terms. It unites about 100 outlets in the country with total square more than 50,000 sq. The company’s portfolio includes brands such as Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay.
