The Cultural and Art Center for the Rehabilitation of Veterans Tytanovi, located in the Respublika Park mall, hosted a presentation of a sheet of nine postage stamps dedicated to veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war who are undergoing rehabilitation after serious injuries and amputations. The stamps were issued by Ukrposhta in partnership with the rehabilitation center.

Respublika Park has become a platform for an important initiative that brings together art, business, rehabilitation, and support for veterans. We are proud of the unique collaboration between the Tytanovi Charitable Foundation and Ukrposhta JSC, which was implemented for a great cause. Postage stamps featuring the faces of our defenders are not only a way to honor them, but also a step towards their socialization and return to active life. We are glad that our veterans received their own postage stamps from Ukrposhta,” said Yulia Shchaslyva, CEO of Respublika Park shopping and entertainment center.

The stamps feature a series of portraits of defenders of Ukraine — heroic stories of defending their homeland, and now — fighting for the right to play a role in society and the opportunity to provide for themselves independently. Artist Lyusya Ivanova created portraits of veterans with serious injuries as part of the “Own Brand” project. The story of each of them is an example of courage and the struggle for Ukraine’s independence.

Among the heroes are brothers Stepan and Petro Pasechky, who served in the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade and worked with strike drones. Stepan lost his leg during the Kursk operation and is currently learning to walk with a prosthesis, while Petro is his reliable support. “It is such an honor to be depicted on a stamp. We agreed, of course, and they drew us. That’s how it turned out… Everything is cool, we are in history,” Stepan Pasechko shared.

“We wanted to depict real people, real heroes on the stamps so that they could recognize themselves. It was a surprise for them. An artist drew them, but they didn’t know why. And today it was such a pleasant surprise. They will send these stamps to their families and loved ones so that they can really see how they are returning to life,” said Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smelyansky.

Vyacheslav Zaporozhets, founder of the Tytanovi rehabilitation center, emphasized: “We specialize in rehabilitation after complex amputations, including short stumps, double and triple amputations. Unfortunately, there are many such patients. In addition to medical care, we have created a cultural and artistic space that helps veterans return to an active life through art and socialization. It is not enough to treat, prosthetize, and teach them to walk — we need to bring them back to life.”

The initiative brought together Ukrposhta, the Tytanovi rehabilitation center, the Port of Culture public organization, The Naked Room art gallery, and artist Lyusya Ivanova. Tytanovi postage stamps, created under the “Own Brand” project, are available for purchase at Ukrposhta branches and at postmark.ukrposhta.ua. Proceeds from their sale will go to support veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war with severe amputations.

A charity fundraiser is also underway to purchase titanium implants for osseointegration for veterans with complex amputations — join the charity fundraiser to help veterans.
